Editor, I read in The New Times recently that the government was trying its best to promote the reading culture among Rwandans, and that the Ministry of Education had launched the Rwanda Reads Initiative (RRI) a platform to cater for the public’s reading needs.
Editor, It’s important that the government starts a national campaign to sensitise the public on the importance of the recently launched solidarity fund, Agaciro Development Fund (AgDF).
Editor, I wish to respond to a story that appeared in The Sunday Times of August 19, titled “NGOs under scrutiny over accountability”. It’s well known that some NGOs get funds from donors to help the poor but divert the money for their own enrichment. However, it is important to note that the majority of these NGOs do help Rwandans.
Editor, Allow me to respond to a story that was published in The New Times of August 16, under the headline “GBV campaigns paying off”. It is interesting to learn that residents of Rweru Sector in Bugesera District, Eastern Province have benefited from educative programmes aimed at reducing Gender Based Violence (GBV) cases.
