Singers knowles, Niyibikora part ways
Safi Niyibikora has split from his long-time girlfriend Knowles, it has been confirmed.
He has been dating the 21-year-old aspiring R&B star since 2010, but the couple decided to end their two-year relationship last month.
A source told The New Times Safi ‘didn’t think she was the one,’ and added ‘he’s moving on.’
It may come as no surprise for his fans, as he recently made a solo appearance at the Salax Awards- in the company of his group mates.
“We decided to part ways because there were many things that we could not agree on – and these could often create misunderstandings. Besides, I think we had rushed into this relationship before we could study each other,” said Safi.
“I am now single, but not ready to mingle anytime soon. I want to focus more on my music career, which is my priority now. I’ve learnt my mistakes and I am now taking my time to study people before I fall into the same trap,” he added.
Meanwhile, rumour has been making rounds that the ‘Byarakomeye’ star was now moving out with a renowned music producer, only identified as Clément. But Knowles has denied the allegations.
“Clément and I are just friends. We have known each other from 2009, when we were both singing in a church choir. It’s not what people think and talk that matters, it is what we do,” said Knowles.
“We’re both actively involved in the music industry – and it’s usually work that connects us,” she added.
Knowles, who is competing in Primus’ prestigious music award, is also reported to have fallen on stage during her recent performance in Belgium – the cause that most people attributed to being under the influence of alcohol.
Was Knowles intoxicated?
“Falling on stage doesn’t necessarily mean that the performer is on drugs or drunk - No! At times it happens as we dance along with our fans. And in this case, I wasn’t drunk, it was an accident,” she said.
