With over 300 dive sites, some of which are recognised globally, dive tourism contributed more than 73 billion pesos (US$1.3 billion) to the Philippine economy in 2023, nearly twice the revenue the industry earned in 2022, the country's Department of Tourism said Friday. The Philippines as an archipelago, at the centre of the coral triangle, is home to biologically diverse marine and aquatic resources.
