Regional artistes are set to meet next month, in Kampala to plan for the regional tour that is aimed at promoting the integration process, among the five countries.According to Intore Massamba, who initiated the plan, politicians have done a lot to unite the regional citizens and it’s now the musicians’ turn to involve in the process for the benefit of the citizens."I will meet with Jose Chameleon next month to finalise our plan. What we need is to involve the music in promoting unity and integration that will at the end add to the economic development of our countries,” he said.Jose Chameleon - real name Joseph Mayanja, is one of Uganda’s most renowned musicians. Masamba said if the plan is done, the artistes will start organising regional concerts to widen the awareness about the benefit of the integration citing the free movement of people and doing business. Most of the challenges that have been raised as the integration process spurs, is the lack of knowledge among the people about the integration agenda meaning that there is still a lot to be done. Tanzanian popular Hip-hop artiste Professor Jay, Kenyan Reggae sensation Redsan and others have expressed interest to join the initiative.
