AS Kigali coach Andrew ‘Casa’ Gasambungo hailed his team’s ‘fantastic’ performance after ending Police’s run of back-to-back wins with an emphatic 3-0 victory in the Turbo King Football League at Kicukiro Grounds on Saturday.AS Kigali, last season’s Peace Cup against Malaria winners, lead the league table with 18 points having won six and lost one of their opening seven matches.Casa attributed his team’s form this season to what he described as a "great team spirit”. "Those were three wonderful goals, well executed by players of high pedigree. They were strikes of top class. The players rose to the occasion against a title contender and I must congratulate them for a fantastic performance,” he said after seeing his team wallop Police, first runners-up in the last two seasons. He added, "My players were not intimidated by the fact that we were up against a very physical side. They executed our strategy very well and I am happy that we are almost achieving our first target of the season, though we must remain focused if we are to end the season on a high.” Ssimbwa slams his flopsMeanwhile, Police coach Sam Ssimbwa slammed his sloppy stars, and conceded they deserved to lose.In a surprise result, the Cops were put to the sword by impeccable AS Kigali stars, with goals from Bodo Ndikumana, Jimmy Mbaraga and Maburi Hakiri, bringing to an end Police’s recent impressive form which had seen them brush aside Etincelles 6-0, the heaviest win of the season so far. "I didn’t like the performance and I think we deserved to lose. It was total humiliation,” the Ugandan tactician conceded after the game."AS Kigali played good football and we were totally poor. We had a couple of good chances to score but they were more in the game than us, they fought more than us, they were much more committed than us,” added Ssimbwa.Police next face bruised Mukura in the latter’s backyard in Huye.
