Singer Tom Close (real name Thomas Muyombo) was on Saturday introduced by his girl friend Tricia Ange Niyonshuti in Kimironko, Kigali.The introduction ceremony started at 4p.m with Tom Close arriving with an entourage of elders and any army of artistes, included Dream Boys duo of Platini Nemeye and Claude Mujyanama, commonly known as TMC, Knowless and Uncle Austin and Christopher.Also on the entourage were Miss Rwanda Aurore Mutesi, former Miss East Africa and Miss City of Kigali Cynthia Akazuba, and producer Clement Ishimwe.At the traditional ceremony, the elders from Tom Close’s side managed to convince their hosts that Tom Close was their beautiful daughter’s future husband, with the latter officially giving Tricia to the all-smiling singer.Tom Close then proceeded to give his bride an encrusted ring and gifts were exchanged as the DJ played out several of the love songs the singer has done over the years in honour of his long-time partner.At some point, ‘Mbwira Yego’, one of the songs that put Tom Close into the limelight was played and it perfectly fitted for the day in which the singer and professional medical doctor was asking Tricia for a hand in marriage.The coup will have their civil marriage on November 15.
