DUE to the unavailability of the proposed venue (Amahoro indoor stadium), the national Taekwondo championship which had been scheduled to be held on Saturday has been postponed to a later date.

Rwanda Taekwondo Federation’s technical director Martin Koonce told Sunday Sport that the venue of the tournament was not available in time for the championship.

"We were informed on Friday that the venue would not be available because of other scheduled activities from the Office of the First Lady which coincided with our tournament,” he said.

Koonce added, "We have decided to postpone the tournament and we will communicate in due time on the proposed date next week.”

The national championship was set to be used to prepare the national team which will compete at the upcoming Africa Taekwondo Championships set for November 22-25 in Kigali.

About 30 African countries of the 44 that are members of the Africa Taekwondo Union are expected to be in Kigali this month.
