RWANDA finished fourth for the second year running at the East Africa Golf Challenge which ended yesterday at the Great Rift Valley Country and Golf club in Naivasha, Kenya. 

Kenya won the four-day East Africa Golf Challenge with 19 points, ahead of Uganda, to retain the tournament for a second consecutive year. Tanzania finished third with 15 and a half points while Rwanda settled in fourth place with 8 and half points. 

Rwanda, represented by Leonard Nkurunziza, Patrick Uwumukiza, Aphrodis Nyirinkwaya, Celestin Habineza, Emmanuel Habineza, Jules Mutesa, Francois Habimana and Nsabimana, collected three points on day one; one and half on day two, one point on day three and three points on the final day. 

Debutants Ethiopia put up a brave fight in the closing round, winning three and halving one for a total of 7 points in sixth place just one and half point behind Rwanda while Burundi finished last with three and half points. 

Uganda who will host the six-nation golf tournament next year, led the first two days before collapsing and the decisive day where they won three games, halved one game and lost four games. 

Countries that participated included Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Kenya the hosts.
