Fifty police officers have successfully completed training in proper practice of justice and democracy among community members. The training which began on 23rd June ended Friday at Hill Top  Hotel in Kigali.

It was organized by the national police of Rwanda in collaboration with the Citizens Network,an organization which promotes justice and democracy in various countries of Africa. 

Speaking at the certificate awarding ceremony, the Director General of Citizens Network, Renoud Galand from Brussels, congratulated the candidates for their participation.

He observed that their achievement was important in improvement of democracy and justice in society and urged them to always to be ready and willing to fully apply the acquired knowledge and skills for the good of the community.

"As trained personnel, you are expected to set examples for others when practicing democracy and justice, which will pave way to good supremacy at all levels of leadership,” he noted.

The coordinator of the training, Noctar Al Housseinou, urged them to move a step further by doing more research on justice and democracy, adding that what they have been taught is just a bit of what they are supposed to know.

"As a way of eliminating injustice and to ensure work effectiveness in our societies, we thought it was of importance for our law enforcers to have more knowledge about justice and democracy,” said police spokes person inspector Higiro Marcel.

Trainers were police officers with different disciplines and skills, human rights activists, judges and others knowledgeable on public affairs. The training cost over twenty million Rwandan francs.
