The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Donatille Mukabalisa, and a team of MPs on Saturday joined residents of Nyambumba Sector, Rubavu District in the monthly communal work, Umuganda.The lawmakers helped rehabilitate a road in Rubona cell.Addressing hundreds of residents after the exercise,  Mukabalisa thanked residents for their role in recent elections adding that MPs will do their best to meet residents countrywide to get views. These, she said , will help them legislate with full knowledge of people’s views."Umuganda is an exercise you have to own; this is the only way we can develop our country. The road we have just rehabilitated, for example, will be used by farmers to transport their produce to access markets,” she said.She said that the exercise was equally an opportune moment for the lawmakers to conduct outreach activities to interact with the electorate.
