Kigali Basketball Club are ready to face defending champions Espoir in the best of five Play-offs finals, which starts this Friday with Game One at Amahoro indoor stadium.

The 2011 champions KBC, who beat Rusizi in semi-finals, will come up against the favourites and still unbeaten Espoir starting at 9pm after the Game One of the women’s Playoff finals between APR and Umbumwe at 5pm and the men’s third place playoff between Rusizi and APR at 7pm.

"It is high time someone stopped their (Espoir) reign, we want to win this title and we are ready to do everything possible to make it happen,” KCB coach Cyrille Kalima told Times Sport on Monday.

He added, "Espoir are a solid team and will be the favourites in the final but we are determined to be the first team to beat them in the league in almost two seasons.”

In a separate interview, Espoir coach Jean Bahufite, whose team beat archrivals APR 2-0 in the best of three Playoffs semi-finals at the weekend said,” The season is not over yet and our target is to try and go another season unbeaten.”

The Nyamirambo-based side won both the regular season league title and the Playoffs trophy last season and they have already retained the league and are now seeking to hold onto the Playoffs crown as a well.
