RZ Manna is located just past the RDB complex, on the way to the MTN Center in Nyarutarama. But first things first: The RZ is pronounced Raz, and means "something miraculous,” while manna is "bread from heaven,” which all translates to "miraculous bread from heaven.” 

Opened to business towards the close of 2011, RZ Manna is actually a bakery and café, and although Korean owned, do not go there with visions of digging into sushi and fresh salmon and tuna and such. Rather, it is a place best recommended to the sweet-toothed. 

It is housed in a big residential house set in an equally extensive garden, and the aroma of fresh baking beckons you even before you step into the facility. Two separate doors usher one into the service area, which is to be found teeming with quick-footed staff that man the service points. 

It is here that you will find everything on offer neatly displayed in glass counters, price tags and all. Otherwise the rest of the building is taken up by private dining rooms and a meeting area. But the aroma of fresh bread that permeates the building comes from further down, in the basement floor, where the in-house bakery is situated. With their own bakery, no need to worry about stale/crusted bread, as the baker kneads his dough according to the needs of the day. 

Talking of bread, it comes in so many varieties and sizes that it was impossible for us to get all the names. Just know that all this variety ranges in price from Rwf500, with the most expensive loaf going for Rwf3,000. They do whole cake (Rwf12,000-28,000), while a piece of it will cost you anything between Rwf1,200-3,500.

While scanning the display shelves for choice, one will actually see a splattering of cakes made on order for clients, complete with their customized messages. All one needs is to buy a cake, and it will be customized to your taste, free of charge. 

Their coffees and smoothies are priced between Rwf1,000-3000, a soda at Rwf700 while a glass of juice goes for Rwf1,000. 

The service area can mean to catch a buzz, especially during peak meal times, but serenity awaits you in the dining rooms, from which soothing Jazz and Classical music pipes at just the right decibels.
