Rwanda men senior national team coach Paul Bitok is confident his side will qualify from the Zone V Qualifiers tournament, which is slated to run from November 25 to December 1 at Amahoro Indoor Stadium. The six-day tournament is a second round qualifier for the 2014 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championships which will be held in Poland. The top three teams will qualify to the next round, which determine Africa’s representatives in Poland.Five teams, including host Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Burundi and Egypt will battle for the final round of the qualifying round.Rwanda men’s senior volleyball began training on Tuesday and will go into the residential training next Monday.Head coach Paul Bitok and his assistant Jean Marie Nsengiyumva will name the 18 players, who will go into the camp at the start of next month.The team started preparations with only home-based players, but the professionals Yakan Guma Lawrence (Etoile Sportive de Setif) and Mukunzi Christopher (El Fanar) will join the camp two weeks before the tournament."I cannot guarantee anything but the most important thing is preparations. We will make good preparations as we need to do better against our rivals,” Bitok said recently.We need to work hard and prepare the team well and I think the preparations will give the chance of qualifying for the next round”.
