The day began with Coach Edu taking the contestants through their usual intense morning work out. This was followed by a dance class during which Coach Edu brought a special guest to help the dancers master their moves. Oscar Mwalo, head choreographer from the ‘Niko Na Safaricom Live’ series was in the Academy to help the contestants get into the groove. As the session came to a close, the contestants were split into groups and put against each other. The winning group was made up of Bior, Jennifer, Angel and Mulungi. The next session was a voice class with Coach Kavutha. Sitenda led the initial warm up and after, Kavutha took over to brush up on breathing technique. She advised that stealing breaths is a bad thing and the contestants should be careful with performance. At the end of the class, Principal Eric came into the class to hear the contestants on probation. He was pleased with the progress that Mishel had made with her track. After this, Principal Eric talked to the contestants about today’s session at the radio stations for the contestants on probation and the meet and greet at Betty’s in the Nairobi CBD.The contestants left in the house continued to work with music director of the week, Eric Musyoka. Nyambura and Josh during their session gave their sentiments in a catch up with the writer. Both agreed that their sessions were tough (especially the morning work outs with Coach Edu) but they enjoy every session and gain a lot from every member of the faculty. Josh shared that he believed that Kojjo and Hope had the best performances on the Sunday show. Nyambura added that she was looking forward to Sunday because she has really enjoyed working with Eric Musyoka. In her words, he is open and willing to move the song to shape your voice. Look out for their Sunday performances. Josh concurred and spoke about their song, stating that it gave them room to be open and work themselves out in a new direction.
