Editor,The energy water and sanitaion authority (EWSA) needed to be split  and this is a decision that was long overdue.Ultimately, the government should think of completely privatising this sevice.I have a background in resource management and know that putting everything together in one box is never going to work. It’s good that the government has realised it now, but honestly speaking, this is an obvious thing that shouldn’t have taken government 10 years to figure out.Our electricity and water targets are very high. Supplying water has been a problem. Everyone in Kigali is crying; now imagine the situation in the countryside. How can we have such problems in place when we have less than five years to achieve the set targets? It is a worrying situation that the new bodies should urgently look into.Look at the methane gas project; every day we read in The New Times how this project is setting deadline after deadline. What is happening? If the investors are not performing to meet expectations, they should leave and we get new ones.
