The plan announced by government to help the aging Genocide survivors who are vulnerable should be implemented as soon as possible.The assistance is about helping them acquire basic services like  shelter and social services.Concerned stakeholders should give all the support needed to make this possible.Nearly 20 years after the Genocide, most of the survivors who may have been strong in the immediate aftermath are now aging, meaning that they are even more vulnerable than they were at the time.That most of them lost their children and any next of kin, makes them even more vulnerable and in need of our support, especially morally.Let us all, beginning from our respective neighbourhoods come closer to these people and offer our support under the now familiar Rwandan spirit of Agaciro and these eldery men and women should not be seen as burden, because in them we re-live our history.We should not therefore, look at them as an inconvinience.Even after the social workers who are supposed to be hired to take care of these people, on a daily basis, take up the jobs, our role will still be needed in our communities.Let us therefore not leave it to the social workers, let us get closer to them, as regularly as we can, to get the very valuable accounts of our history, because this is how it is passed on from one generation to another.
