Bahufite eager to extend unbeaten record in Playoffs

After wining two consecutive league titles without losing any single game, Espoir coach Jean Bahufite is confident his team can extend their unbeaten record into the Playoffs finals.

After wining two consecutive league titles without losing any single game, Espoir coach Jean Bahufite is confident his team can extend their unbeaten record into the Playoffs finals.The Rwanda Basketball Federation has not yet set the dates for the Playoffs tournament but the league champions Espoir have already started preparations.The Nyamirambo-based team won both the regular season league title as well as the Playoffs trophy last season, and they retained the league title last weekend and would be hoping to the same in the Playoffs."We have already started preparing for the Playoffs because we want to extend our unbeaten record to two full seasons and then wait to see what will happen next season,” said Bahufite, a former Espoir and national team player.He added, "We have been a winning team for last two seasons and I am confident we can maintain our winning form.  We want to win the Playoffs trophy as well.”The Rafiki side has won the league title five times in 1999, 2004, 2005, 2012 and 2013. Espoir, Kigali Basketball Club Rusizi have got the ticket of playing in Playoffs, while APR will wait for their rescheduled league game against 30-Plus to see if they can move above United Generation Basketball Club, who currently occupy the fourth place are two points ahead of the army side.
