Fruits are essential for the daily functioning of one’s body since they act as fibre that helps to stimulate the digestive system.
Different fruit types are rich in various nutritional components and values, for example vitamins like A, C, B1, B6, are required by our bodies in large quantities and should be consumed on a daily basis.
According to Gerald Ruzindana, a Consultant at Amazon Nutrition and Reflexology Therapy, nutrition values that one gets from fruits cannot sustain the verge of body nutrients and dietary needs of our bodies. Instead what is supposed to be done is having a balanced diet.
"The whole issue here is having a balanced body, be it in nutrients or physically. One does not need to abandon food in order to lose weight,” Ruzindana advised.
"In the first place, having excessive weight means that what is entering the body does not correspond with what is coming out. This brings us therefore to the introduction of the word calories.
One has to burn equal calories in relation to those that enter the body in order to maintain a good shape,” Ruzindana said.
However depending on someone’s weight, one might decide to skip some meals to maintain good weight, but to do so, one needs to calculate their body mass index (BMI) to know exactly how much weight they need to reduce.
"When you calculate this and you find that you’re above 25% then that is obesity if it is below 18% then that is malnutrition or underweight. Everything in the body needs a balance and it is through these imbalances in the body functions and nutrients that our system breaks down, hence diseases,” Ruzindana explained.
Research shows that one needs to burn 100 more to lose 10 pounds in a year without dieting. Activities like walking one mile in 20 minutes, swimming and jogging for 30 minutes a day will give incredible results.
