Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) chairman Celestin Ntagungira is in United Arab Emirates where he is seeking ties with different football stakeholders in that part of the world. Ntagungira, who is seeking to create more partnerships with developed nation as part of his development plan for Rwandan football, has been invited by Fifa as an adviser during the Fifa U-17 World Cup, which gets underway on October 17. "I was invited by Fifa to be an assessor at the Fifa U-17 World Cup, but while there I also plan to use the opportunity to lobby for partnerships with different nations. So to me, it’s like I am going to kill two birds with one stone,” the Rwanda FA boss, a former Fifa assistant referee told Times Sport at the weekend. Two months ago, Ferwafa signed a cooperation pact with their Spanish counterparts aimed at helping the former to develop their young talented players through the Royal Spanish Academy in Valencia, and already three youngsters have been enrolled.The U-17 tournament will be held in six cities; Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Al Ain, Fujairah and Sharjah. A total of 504 players will be setting their sights on following in the footsteps of the many illustrious names to have left a glittering impression at past editions. Africa is represented by Cote d’Ivoire, three-time winners Nigeria, Morocco and Tunisia.The opening match of this year’s U-17 World Cup between Brazil and Slovakia on October 17 will mark the start of three weeks of drama, spectacle and thrilling football which climaxes with the final on November 8.
