WESTERN PROVINCE A woman who had gone missing in Kibuye, was at the weekend found by fishermen, dead on the shores of Lake Kivu. The woman only identified as Kamari, a resident of Kimonyo Island had disappeared days ago, after drinking.

A woman who had gone missing in Kibuye, was at the weekend found by fishermen, dead on the shores of Lake Kivu. The woman only identified as Kamari, a resident of Kimonyo Island had disappeared days ago, after drinking.
Residents said Kamari was a drunkard and suspected she might have died after over drinking because the body was found without any bruises to suspect murder.
However, a postmortem report says she was killed by water. Fishermen said they found the body floating on water.
"According to our preliminary investigations, the deceased after drinking a lot wanted to go home. Her residence being on an island, she swum a small distance but got tired in the middle of the Lake and drowned,” said the police, adding that the first people to see the body found when the clothes were wrapped around the waist. However, relatives of the deceased have appealed to police to make more investigations.
"She used to go drinking but could reach home safely, we are wondering what might have happened this time,” Mugisha Remmy the deceased’s half son said.
