Turbo King Football League defending champions Rayon Sports have promised to fine any of their players, who ‘intentionally’ get themselves sent off the pitch, Times Sport has learnt. Some of the sanctions which were passed by the club include; deducting Rwf25, 000 from a player’s monthly salary and forfeiting  of match bonuses. The new measures, quite unprecedented in local football, at least in public, come after team skipper Fuadi Ndayisenge and midfielder Abouba Sibomana received straight red cards in the opening two matches of the season against Gicumbi and SC Kiyovu. Both were spotted by the referees elbowing opponents. However, Rayon Sports head coach Didier Gomes da Rosa said recently, "Fining in-disciplined players is common everywhere in the world, even at the highest level of professional football.”Some of the instances when a player gets himself sent off, according to Gomes, include; confronting referees, intentional bad tackles as well other unsporting behaviors that could result into suspensions. The Frenchman, who led the Blues to the league title last season, confirmed that the sanctions will apply effective the next match against AS Muhanga on Sunday. Gomes however, lauded his team’s overall discipline and the commitment from the players. The champions drew 0-0 against arch-rivals SC Kiyovu last weeked in the second league match of the season, having started defense of their title with 2-1 win against Gicumbi.
