Marines Football Club is ready to hurt visiting Mukura Victory Sport on day two of the 2013/14 Turbo King Football National League on Sunday at Umuganda stadium in Rubavu, Western Province, kickoff 3pm.
Marines started their campaign in the worst possible fashion, going down 6-2 against the record 13-times league champions APR last weekend at Stade de Kigali but coach Abdul Kalim Nduhirabandi ‘Coka’ says his team is coming into the game aiming to take all three points.
Coka told Sunday Sport, "We want to win this game. That’s our focus and it is possible because we are capable of beating any team at our home ground, I know Mukura is a good team, very difficult to beat but we are ready for the game.”
"We must always try to win our home matches. I am aware of Mukura’s current form, they won 4-0 away at AS Muhanga, so with that win they must be very confident and rightly so, but will use the home advantage to get the three points.
"Going forward, we need to put last week’s result against APR behind us and focus on the next match, which is going to be equally difficult but we need to be confident in our ability to get up the league table,” stated Coke, who will be without defender Ishmael Uwihoreye who was sent off against APR.
In contrast, coach Gilbert Kaze’s Mukura made the best possible start after thumping Ali Bizimungu’s AS Muhanga 4-0 in Muhanga.
"My goal is to try to win every match regardless of who we play against and we are going to Rubavu to win. We need to finish as high as possible in the table at the end of the season, so it is important that we win on Sunday against Marines,” the Burundian tactician said.
