National women’s sitting volleyball team has entered intensive training ahead of the upcoming 2013 women Sitball Volleyball World Championship Qualifiers. The Qualifiers tournament will be held next month in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, while the World Championships will be held next year in Poland.The team started training last week at the National Paralympics Committee gymnasium at Amahoro national stadium. The team will also be using the World Championships Qualifiers as part of their early preparations for the 2016 Paralympics Games in Brazil.The provisional 16-woman team is under the tutelage of coach Jean Marie Nsengiyumva, who said, "I think to start early preparations is the only way to success for this team.”Nsengiyumva, who also doubles as the head coach of national volleyball league side KVC and national team assistant coach noted that they plan to organise some friendly matches for the team before the Kampala tournament.
