Senior volleyball national team skipper Christophe Mukunzi has joined Algeria first division club El Fanar, he officially joined his new team on Monday despite a one-year contract last month.
Senior volleyball national team skipper Christophe Mukunzi has joined Algeria first division club El Fanar, he officially joined his new team on Monday despite a one-year contract last month.The 26-year-old returns to the Algerian league for a second spell after spending last season with Qatari first division league side, Al-Arabi Sports Club.He spent two seasons at another Algerian side Blida Volleyball Club before moving to Qatar last season.Mukunzi has been a regular on the national team for the last couple of years and his move will be a big boost for Paul Bitok’s side, which will soon start preparing for the Zone V World championships qualifiers slated for November in Kigali.Rwanda’s other professional players include; Lawrence Yakan Guma (Etoile Sportive de Setif-Algeria) and Placide ‘Madison’ Sibomana (Al-Arabi Sports Club –Qatar). Vincent Dusabimana aka Gasongo is still looking for a new club after being released by Qatari side Aghallfa Sports Club.
