Skol Breweries has appointed Philip Mibenge the new general manager, replacing Johan De Smet-van Damme who has been at the helm since April this year.A statement from the brewer of Skol, Gatanu and Virunga Mist beer brands said Johan will continue to oversee Skol’s growth plans across Africa as the commercial director at the company’s headquarters.Mibenge brings more than 15 years of experience in management, marketing, sales and distribution in Africa and Europe."Rwanda is a strong growing market for professional brewers, and Skol is ready to play a big role,” read the statement.Skol’s entry in 2010 ended Bralirwa’s 50-year monopoly, changing the dynamics of the lucrative local beverages industry.
