TodayAPR     vs     Marines     3pmFollowing the disappointments of last season, APR FC chairman Maj. Gen Jack Musemakweli believes his youthful side has the potential to win the 2013/14 Turbo King Football League (TKFL). The military side finished last season trophy-less. However, Gen. Musemakweli, who took over from Maj. Gen. Alex Kagame, stated that after taking the decision to use only young Rwandan players, the club management remains convinced that the team will perform better this season thanks to the experience gained from playing together for a full season. "The young players have proven that they can play football to a high level. We have streamlined everything that is needed to motivate them to perform well this season,” he said on Friday during a news conference to unveil the squad.  He added, "We have set aside the annual budget to run the team efficiently, salaries and bonuses will all be paid on time and all we request from the players is to give their best in every match and if they can do that, then we have a good chance to win trophies this season.” The general noted that the management will be available to monitor the players on a daily basis and, he said, "We are hopeful our target of winning the league title this season will be achieved because we have the best crop of Rwandan players in the league.” In the club’s 19 years of existence, APR FC had never finished below second place in the Rwandan league and have been title contenders all these years and to Gen. Musemakweli, this year will not be an exception. The record 13-times league champions, who have also won 8 Peace Cup titles and three Cecafa Kagame Cup titles, begin their title quest on Sunday against Marines FC today at Stade de Kigali in Nyamirambo.
