Last season’s Peace Cup against Malaria finalists AS Muhanga are eager to make a winning start to the 2013/14 Turbo national football league season when they host Mukura Victory Sports on Saturday at Muhanga stadium. The Muhanga District-sponsored side finished in the 11th position last season with 27 points, while Huye’s Mukura finished in the fourth.According to AS Muhanga head coach Ali Bizimungu, the team is targeting to finish in top six. Last season they won six, drew nine and lost eleven matches."I have a youthful squad with a lot of exciting players, I hope we can finish among the best six teams in the league. It’s achievable but we need to make a good start on Saturday against Mukura,” the former Rayon Sports coach told Saturday Sport. He added, "We have the advantage of playing the first match at home, so we must make sure we give our fans something to cheer about in form of three points.”"Mukura are well aware that it won’t be easy to beat them but we must be confident and believe that we can beat anyone at our ground,” he added. However, Buzimungu will have to contend with beginning the season without his star striker Jean Bosco Gasana, who picked up an injury after colliding with his goalkeeper during training this week.
