Today, Diva Africa Awards Limited is set to honor AS Kigali women’s football club head coach Grace Nyinawumuntu for her role in developing women’s football in Rwanda.The former Rwanda national team central defender has won a record five consecutive national women football league titles with the City of Kigali sponsored team."It is a great honor to be recognised by DIVA Awards Limited, it makes me feel even more proud of the work I am doing and the achievements of my team (AS Kigali). It will encourage me and my team to work even harder in the coming season,” Nyinawumuntu told this paper on Thursday.Apart from Nyinawumuntu, other women achievers to be honored include Musicians Jeanne d’Arc Butera commonly known as Knowless, Allioni, local Hip Hop queen Paccy and Maria Yohani famously known for her single ‘Intsinzi’ as well as Hope Azeda, an actress and founder of Mashirika group.Diva Awards Limited first came up with the idea to honor innovative and most active women from different fields like in sports, music industry and modeling among others in 2008 in Kenya before going to Uganda and now Rwanda.
