Newly formed Rayon Sports Volleyball club will use over Rwf10 millions in their maiden season, which is slated to begin November, Times Sport has learnt.
"We have a budget of Rwf10 millions to run the team through the season and even though we don’t have all the money in cash, we have some promises from our main sponsors as well as potential sponsors,” said the chairman Erasme Ntazinda.
According to the official, the club will get the sponsorship from Nyanza District, who also sponsor national football league champions Rayon Sports FC.
The club has already signed the team’s head coach Fidele Nyirimana ‘Fidjo’ from National University of Rwanda, who will be assisted by Jean de Dieu Bagirishya ‘Castar’.
Now the coaches have started to look for players to start preparations before the league kicks off.
While the 2012/13 league season is yet to conclude, the new season has to start in early November to in order to fall into line with the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) calendar.
This season’s league has reached the playoff stage where the top four teams in both genders will contest for the title on October 5-6.
In the men’s category, the National University of Rwanda will face Lycee de Nyanza, while APR faces INATEK and for the women category, APR will play with Ruhango, while Rwanda Revenue Authority will be up against St Alloys.
