As students, the most immediate fear at school is usually about exams. And this becomes quite obvious when the time for exams draws closer. By this time many will be seen moving around with books yet by that time a lot of time has been wasted.
As students, the most immediate fear at school is usually about exams. And this becomes quite obvious when the time for exams draws closer. By this time many will be seen moving around with books yet by that time a lot of time has been wasted. When the results turn out to be poor, many always get disappointed wondering what was not done to harvest good scores. And this proves that the fear for exams makes many students lose the confidence required to perform well. Confidence is crucial when it comes to exams. At times, life at school seems tough to some students and wish there was a smoother road. But no matter how desperate a situation gets, how low you may feel, it is always important to believe in yourself. Do not feel discouraged if you get lower marks than you did the previous term, double the effort and you will succeed. Look at yourself as a winner because losing is not an option. You can’t be good at everything so accept what it is you are good at and stick to it. Never try to hide who you are. A teacher of mine said once, "The only shame is to have shame.” Always stand up for what you believe in. Question what other people tell you and do not accept to be taken for granted. Never regret the past for it is a waste of time. You must believe in yourself. Self doubt is the main cause of failure in life. Some students give up the second they are faced with an obstacle. You have to try more than once if you truly want to succeed. There is a reason for everything, every mistake, every moment of weakness and the reason behind all that lies with you same as success since you’re the master of your life.Christian D. Larson was quoted, "Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.” If you want to be the master of your life then, just take one step at a time and above everything have confidence in yourself.Whatever you do, do not give up. Remember that quitters never win and winners never quit. And eventually self confidence will take you there. The writer is a student at Kagarama Seconday School
