THE 2013 UAE Exchange & Xpress Money T20 tournament reaches its climax this Sunday with finals in both genders at the Kicukiro Cricket Oval.
In the women final, favorites Queens of Victory will take on Charity Cricket club, starting at 8am. Queens of Victory come into the final with the upper hand and a lot of confidence after winning all their preliminary games.
Queens of Victory captain Dianne Bimenyimana said on Friday, "We have been in two finals this year but never won, but this time we are ready mentally and physically to win.”
In the men’s category, Challengers cricket club will face off a spirited Kigali cricket club. Kigali cricket club goes into the final as the underdogs but believe that anything can happen.
Kigali cricket club, the oldest club in the country, and last won any sort of silverware championship in 2008, are looking to stop the drought this Sunday.
According to wicket keeper Mohammed Zeeshan, "We are not under any sort of pressure whatsoever so we will go into the game in a relaxed mood and just concentrate on trying to win the final.”
On the other hand, Challengers, who have already won two trophies this year, will be hoping to make it three. "We are a better team and hope to win,” said the team’s leading wicket taker, Mehbub Shaikh.
To reach the final, Challengers beat Telugu CC, while KCC shocked favourites Kerala Hunters.
