Editor,To prevent such kind of theft in the future, I think that banks’ safe keys should never be kept by one person, and a cashier not allowed to keep as much as Rwf5 million at any given time. And when it comes to commercial banks, they should not go beyond one day for collecting the money. All cashiers must go through background check, take finger prints, and have their pictures taken. Small or district-level banks should have safes at police stations in their area to deposit in safe keys. However our banks should think of buying digital safes.Mwakenya, United StatesReaction to the story, "Bank teller arrested over theft of Rwf32 million”, (The New Times, September 16)
