AMAVUBI Stars forward Meddie Kagere has denied reports confirming that he has sealed a Rwf9 million move to league champions Rayon Sports on a two-year contract.Over the weekend, Rayon Sports club chairman Abdallah Murenzi, who is also the Mayor of Nyanza District said, "We have held talks with Kagere and agreed a Rwf9 million move (to Rayon Sports), we hope to conclude everything in the coming weeks though.”However, when contacted, the former Police striker denied the claims, instead insisting that his priority move is to sign for Lebanese Premier League side Safa Sporting Club where he underwent trials last month."This information is not true. I have not agreed anything with Rayon Sports. I was supposed to talk to their officials over the weekend but I waited for them and they didn’t show up or communicate. Instead of first talking to me personally, they are giving wrong information to the media,” he told Times Sport. The Uganda-born player insists, "I am only focused on a move to Safa SC and I hope my status with them will be known not later than this week. If that move fails, then I will see what to do but before that, I have not had any talks or agreed anything with any local club.”According to Kagere, Ferwafa has already sent the necessary documentation to Safa SC regarding his nationality which forced the Lebanese club to first halt giving him a contract after it was claimed by the Malian football federation that he was of Gabonese origin. In trials with Safa Sc last month, he played four matches and scored three goals. The Rwandan international talisman spent three seasons at Police, scoring 38 league goals.
