The United Nations decorated 22 Rwandan police officers serving under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) with medals for effectively executing their mandate.
The decoration ceremony was held on Thursday at the Rwandan battalion premises in South Sudan and presided over by Hilde Johnson (L), the UN Secretary General Special Representative to UNMISS. Johnson commended Rwanda for its "great contribution” in transforming the world’s newest independent state.
The Rwandan contingent commander ACP Joel Ndahiro (R) said Rwanda is committed to contributing to peace building in other countries. The ceremony was also attended by UNMISS Police Commissioner Fred Yiga and other senior officers in the mission.Saturday Times
