RWANDA REMAINED unmoved in the latest FIFA world rankings released on Thursday despite losing their final Group H match against Benin last weekend.  The country is ranked 131st in the world and 38th in Africa.

RWANDA REMAINED unmoved in the latest FIFA world rankings released on Thursday despite losing their final Group H match against Benin last weekend.  The country is ranked 131st in the world and 38th in Africa. Rwanda remains behind other Cecafa countries such as Uganda, ranked 81st in the world and 19th in Africa. Ethiopia, who are into the final 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifying phase, moved nine places to 93rd in the world and 25th in Africa.Kenya moved 11 places to 118th in the world and 33rd in Africa; Burundi are 124th in the world and 35th in Africa, while Tanzania is ranked 127th in the world and 27th in Africa. Meanwhile, the 10 sides in Africa’s final play-off round for the 2014 World Cup have learnt their grouping after the latest Fifa rakings.The top five ranked sides in Fifa’s list will be placed into pot one for the September 16 draw in Cairo, Egypt, and the remaining teams in pot two. Côte d’Ivoire remains the top ranked African country in the 19th position in the world, while Ghana retains their 24th spot in the world and second in Africa. Algeria are third on the continent and 28th in the world. African champions, Nigeria are ranked fourth best team in Africa but dropped to 36th place on the global ranking. Spain, Argentina and Germany hold the first, second and third spots in the world respectively as Fifa Confederations Cup champions Brazil move to the eighth position.
