Dear editor,

News from Nyagatare that local defence personnel have been disarmed in the wake of misuse of the firearms is good news.

These people are supposed to ensure security by cooperating with locals. They should be taken through intense sensitization before allowing them to hold weapons. Otherwise, their ignorance would cost us many lives.
