PRIMUS national league side Musanze FC are aiming to finish in top six in the 2013/2014 season. The club finished seventh last season with36 points. The new season kicks-off on September 21.
Last month, the Northern Province-based side had suspended three players; Egide Rutayisire, Jean Shyaka and Salim Fundi after the trio failed to report back for the pre-season training on time and but they have since been forgiven and have started training after issuing written apologies.
According to the club’s assistant coach Maurice Nshimiyimana alias Maso, Musanze FC will compete with a mindset to improve on the last season’s position and have a go at the Peace Cup.
"The aim is not to fall back but rather to improve on our position from last season, obviously we are not going to win the league title, but we can at least finish in the top six,” Maso told Times Sport.
He added, "Pre-season training is going well and the new players are adapting to our system quite well too, so we hope to be ready in time for the start of the new season.”
The club is reported to be on the verge of completing the signing of former Rayon Sports and Kiyovu SC striker Yusuf Ndayishimiye aka Kabishi, who is currently without a club after being released by Kiyovu.
