RWANDA’s number three professional golfer Ernest Ndayisenga finished fifth at the Uganda Golf Open that ended on Saturday at Entebbe Golf Club.
RWANDA’s number three professional golfer Ernest Ndayisenga finished fifth at the Uganda Golf Open that ended on Saturday at Entebbe Golf Club.The four-day Professionals’ tournament was won by Ugandan Vincent Byamukama with a total round of 284 Gross score, while Peter Ssendawula carded 288 Gross to claim the Amateurs’ category.Richard Ainly of Kenya and Uganda’s Deo Akope finished second and third respectively in the professionals’ category.Rwanda was represented by its top three professional golfers namely; number three Ndayisenga, number two Emmanuel Ruterana and top ranked Jean Baptiste Hakizimana.However, Hakizimana, who was of the favourites for the title to add to his 2011 triumph, didn’t even make the cut. The 27-year-old golfer is set to make his debut in the Asian Golf Tour which kicks-off on September 26.Ndayisenga was the best finisher in the fifth position with a total score of 299 Gross. He scored 77, 73, 73 and 76 from day one, two, three and four respectively.Former number one Ruterana, with his best score of 70 on day two, finished in 13th position with a total round of 303 Gross. He scored 79 on day one, 78 and 76 on day three and four respectively.
