Rwandair will start tri-weekly flights to Juba International Airport in South Sudan on September 21, according to John Mirenge, the airline’s chief executive officer.Mirenge said in a statement that all operational issues that had earlier delayed the launch of Juba flights have been resolved.The airline will fly the Bombardier CRJ 900NG aircraft bought in November last year to Juba every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, according to Robert Nsinga the airline’s head of corporate communications.He said Juba will be RwandAir’s 15th destination since 2009. Alice Katiti, the senior manager in charge of the eastern route, said a return ticket will cost $350 (about Rwf230,000).RwandAir operates a fleet that consist four Boeing 737 series aircraft and one Bombardier Dash-200 series and two new Bombardier CRJ-900 airplanes.It is set to acquire another Q400 and introduce a business class on the domestic route next year. The airline operates regional flights to Nairobi and Mombasa in Kenya,  Entebbe in Uganda, Bujumbura-Burundi, as well as Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. The airline also serves Johannesburg, Dubai, Lagos, Accra, Libreville and Brazzaville. Douala in Cameroon and Abidjan in Ivory Coast are also planned for 2013.
