Sunday Rayon Sports vs Mukura - 3:30pm

TWO SOUTHERN Province-based national football league giants Mukura Victory Sports and Rayon Sports are set to face off in a pre-season friendly match on Sunday at Stade de Kigali, kickoff at 3:30pm.

The game between the league champions, Rayon Sports and the side that finished fourth last season, Mukura, is being organized in order to show both teams’ supporters based in Kigali how far they have reached in preparation for the start of the 2013/2014 season which kicks-off on September 21.

Rayon come into the match after losing 1-0 to AS Kigali in the inaugural Super Cup last weekend, while opponents Mukura drew 0-0 against Nyamagabe-based Amagaju FC in their last pre-season game.

The match was confirmed on Friday by Mukura’s Secretary General Olivier Mulindahabi. "We will play a friendly match against Rayon Sports on Sunday at Nyamirambo stadium.”

"We have made a lot of changes to the team in terms of playing staff that is why we need to play as many pre-season (friendly) matches as possible in order to have them (players) gel as a team before the new season begins,” he explained.

Last week, Mukura signed defender Etienne Karekezi from Burundi Premier League side Atletico on a two-year contract.

On the other hand, Rayon Sports also in the same week signed striker Jacques Cyubahiro from the 13-time champions APR.
