THIS IS with reference to Steven Ruhanamilindi’s article, "War mongers in Tanzania media: Rwanda supports peace, not war”, published in the edition of The New Times of August 27.

Just to remind fellow readers in the interest of truth. Arusha Peace Accords meant nothing but simply giving an opportunity for every Rwandan citizen to have the right to live in the land which our beloved ancestors spared no single effort to establish as a state.

Rwanda is not colonial-made as one might think. Colonialists found the Kingdom of Rwanda organised and civilised, but over a century, they have struggled to disorganise us even though I can say they have failed to wipe out our identity.

To FDLR genocidaires, most of you by the time of Arusha Peace Accords you were in power but you opted not to respect it but rather to extinct a group – by planning and executing the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi – (your fellow Rwandans) under the supervision of colonial masters. 

This plan failed but the same people have kept you protected and armed in a foreign land contrary to international law.

You took some of our people in exile as political capital but again they knew who you are and abandoned you in the wildness of DRC. Some of you who denounced your genocidal ideology have returned and were welcomed back home like any other Rwandans.

The Government of Rwanda has also established programmes to re-integrate you in society. When you claim that you need negotiations with government, what else do you need from what you already have? Why can’t you just denounce your ideology and come back home? If you still think that someone can help you finish your dirty work, I advise you to forget.

This, to me, is a question of death and life. No one will once again be able to classify any group of Rwandans for slaughter like animals. Whoever is behind your plan remember God is for peace, harmony, life (us) and not for genocide (you).
