NYAMASHEKE — The Institute St Famille de Nyamasheke in Kagano sector in Nyamasheke district, has received five computers donated by the President’s Office.

The HP desktop computers were handed over to the school management by Solina Nyirahabimana, the Minister in the President’s Office on Wednesday.

Nyirahabimana explained that the computers were promised to the school by President Paul Kagame last year when the school was marking 50 years of its existence.

Last year, the school celebrated its golden jubilee and invited President  Kagame as chief guest. The president was however represented at the function by Minister Nyirahabimana.

"These five HP computers are a donation of the president (Kagame) that he promised in his message to you last year when you marked the golden Jubilee,” Nyirahabimana said while handing over the computers.

She urged the school’s administration to always encourage students and teachers to fully utilise the facilities to acquire computer skills. She also urged the administration to take good care of the materials in order for them to last longer.

Liberatha Mukankaka, the director of studies at the school who spoke on behalf of the school management,  thanked the president for the donation, saying it would facilitate computer lessons.

After the occasion, the minister made an assessment tour of various areas that were destroyed by the earthquake that hit Rusizi and Nyamasheke districts early in February.

She also inspected Shangi Primary and secondary schools, Bushenge Hospital in Bushenge sector and Nkanka Catholic Church.
