Several parliamentary candidates affiliated to the Liberal Party (PL) on Thursday campaigned in Musanze District, with most saying promoting human rights will be a top priority once they get majority representation in Parliament. The party has put forward a list of 64 candidates to contest in the elections that will see 53 lawmakers of 80 members elected through general elections.Party president Protais Mitali stressed that PL will build on what has been already achieved to improve the socio-economic status of all Rwandans. He said that the party will make sure all Rwandans understand and enjoy their basic rights which he said would put them in position to demand from government what they are entitled to."This is the third time PL campaigns for parliamentary seats and we have had representatives in Parliament. We believe whenever  Rwandans have given us the mandate we have never disappointed them we want your vote once again,” he said.Furthermore, Mitali said the party will advocate for improvement of infrastructure as development cannot be achieved without strong infrastructure."PL’s political programme responds to people’s needs and I am ready to vote for this party and hope that they will deliver on their promises,” said Jean Bosco Ntawizera a resident of Busogo sector and PL supporter.
