DEFENDING champion Jean Claude Gasigwa will renew his rivalry with Uganda’s David Oringa when the pair face-off in the final of the 2013 ITF/CAT Money Circuit tournament on Friday at Umubano hotel.Gasigwa romped into the final after dispatching compatriot Moussa Hakizimana in straight sets 6-2 6-1 in yesterday’s semi final. However, second seed Dieudonne Habiyambere lost to Oringa in three sets 4-6 6-2 6-3 in a match which lasted two and half hours. Last year’s beaten finalist, Habiyambere won the opening set 4-6 but faltered in the second and third sets which he lost 6-2 6-3.The match was a revenge for Oringa, who lost to Habiyambere in the semi finals of the Uganda Open in March this year which the Rwandan won 6-3, 6-3.On the other hand, the clash between Gasigwa and Oringa will be another avenue for the Ugandan talent to redeem himself after the Kenya Open defeat. In June this year, Gasigwa edged Oringa in the semi finals of the Kenyan Open which he went to lose to Ugandan champion Duncan Mugabe. In the women category, it will be an all Kenyan-affair in the final after Caroline Odour and Everlyn Otula edged out Rwandan opponents in the semi finals.Defending champion Odour beat Megan Ingabire 3-6 6-2 6-3, while Otula saw off top seed Gisele Umumararungu 6-2 6-4 to ensure a repeat of last year’s final show-down.The winners of each category will pocket US$800, while losing finalists will take home US$540.
