FOUR Rwandan beach volleyball teams (two boys’ and two girls’) are set to take part in the international Kampala beach volleyball Open tournament scheduled for September 24-29 in Kampala, Uganda.Kampala was endorsed to be the first East African city to host an FIVB event, the tournament will be the fourth of five mixed-gender FIVB Open events in 2013. Competitions will be taking place on the Uganda Manufacturers Association Grounds (UMA).Two Rwandan men’s teams include the pair of national team captain Christophe Mukunzi and Pierre Marshal Kwizera and the couple of Olivier Ntagengwa and national team’s number one setter Elie Mutabazi.Women’s teams will comprise African champions Charlotte Nzayisenga and Denise Mutatsimpundu and the duo of Emelienne Uwineza alongside Seraphine Mukantambara.The development was confirmed by Rwanda volleyball federation’s secretary general Gertrude Kubwimana in a statement, "Kampala beach volleyball Open is scheduled for September 24-29 and Rwanda will have four teams participating in the international tournament.”"The four teams start training on September 2 and will leave the country for the tournament on September 21, three days before competitions kick-off,” Kubwimana told this paper.Countries to grace the tournament are: Argentina, Brazil, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Canada, Czech Republic, NCA, Spain, Estonia, Germany, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Russia, Suisse, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, Venezuela, USA, Finland, England, Rwanda and hosts Uganda.
