THE Inaugural Super Cup match which will pit Primus league champion Rayon Sports and Peace Cup against Malaria winners AS Kigali set for September 1 has been shifted from Amahoro stadium to Stade de Kigali.

Ferwafa’s Secretary General Michel Gasingwa confirmed yesterday that the match was switched because the original venue will be hosting to a national thanks giving event ‘Rwanda Shima Imana’ on the same day.

The match is sponsored by Turkish construction company Babil Group of Companies (Babilaks Construction Limited) to a tune of Rwf25m.

The winner will walk away with Rwf5m and the runners-up will take home Rwf2m, while the rest of the money will go into organising the event.

According to the agreement, Babil group will take charge of advertising, branding, purchase of the trophy and medals while Ferwafa will offer the playing field, referees and ticket collection and distribution.

Meanwhile, AS Kigali will go into the match minus head coaches Cassa Mbungo and goalkeeper’s coach Thomas Higiro, who are both currently on duty with the Junior Wasps preparing for the Francophone Games in Nice, France.

Assistant coach Jean de Dieu Mateso will be in charge of the City of Kigali side.
