Unique designs to grace cultural fashion show 2013

The final preparations for the Cultural Fashion show 2013 are in high gear as the D-day approaches. Iris Pro-films 1000 Hills Ltd is the organiser of the show that will feature unique designs from a variety of cultures by local and international fashion designers.

The final preparations for the Cultural Fashion show 2013 are in high gear as the D-day approaches. Iris Pro-films 1000 Hills Ltd is the organiser of the show that will feature unique designs from a variety of cultures by local and international fashion designers. 

Talented local models will be featured in the promotion of all designs. The show will be held at Sports View hotel, Kigali on Saturday starting at 6pm.

Celestin Ntawirema, event coordinator and managing director of Iris Pro-Films 1000 Hills ltd, says that the show will offer designers a chance to advertise their designs. The event will feature over 10 designers that will share their collections through the runway show. During the fashion show, there will be an expo of designers’ products. 

The best designer and best model will be awarded. Both winners will receive a prize.

"The show will be unique. It will feature designs from a variety of arts and cultures including Amasunzu style, Rwandan clothes preferred since 1962, Umukenyero and Inshabure, East African clothing and collections from Europe, USA and Asia,” Ntawirema said.

Ntawirema highlights that the aim of the event is to promote Rwanda’s creative sector through the support of fashion designers and to generate public awareness of the significant talent of local artists.

"Our goal is to promote fashion designers and create public awareness of the talent and quality designs in Rwanda,” he noted. Adding that, "We aim to provide business opportunities, networking and leisure activities for the audience.”

The event is being organised in collaboration with several modeling agencies, including Travella Fashion Models Ltd, Gisabo Event Management Ltd, and local fashion lines such as:

Entrance fees for the Saturday Cultural Fashion show is Rwf5,000 and Rwf8,000. 

The show will not only provide a venue for designers to promote their lines but will also be an opportunity for professional models to showcase their talents. 

In addition to a spectacular show, the audience will have the unique opportunity to purchase designs and products from the collections they see on the runway. Designs will be on sale before and after the show.
