Only a small quantity honey is remaining,” Jean Guy Afrika, Director of Traditional Exports, Rwanda Investment and Export Promotion Agency (Riepa) said. Through Riepa, government exported 35 tonnes of assorted food products to Oman. They include cow ghee, honey, passion juice (AGASHYA), sweet bananas, cassava flour and chili.Afrika will be traveling to Oman to identify how the market can be penetrated deeper, when to ship the next consignment and which products are on high demand."Every thing is going on as expected. When I come back, I will be having a clear picture of when and which products could be shipped in the next consignment,” Afrika said.While fagging off the fast consignment of exports at Kigali International Airport, Vincent Karega, State minister for Trade and Investment, was optimistic about exporting to the Middle East. He said it would encourage Rwandans to improve on their production ways and change the culture of cultivation.The deal to export to Oman was a resulted from the road show previously staged by Rwandans in the Middle East. It is during the show, that about 3,000 Rwandan Diaspora expressed strong interest in Rwandan foods.
