RWANDA’S school teams started off with a dismal show at the on-going East African post primary (FEASSA) competitions with only three out of ten teams picking a win in their opening matches in Lira, Uganda.The only three Rwandan teams that registered victories in their opening matches include Lycee de Kigali who beat Uganda’s Kibuli secondary school 57-38 in boys’ basketball; ES Kigoma secondary school registered a 22-17 win over Tanzania’s Mwanakwerekwe secondary school in boy’s handball and Solidarity Academy who thrashed South Sudan’s Al Muktar girl secondary school 7-0.ESIG Rubavu, APE Rugunga, Lycee de Nyanza, Saint Joseph Kabgayi and APAPEKI Cyuru were on the losing end.In Boy’s football, ESIG Rubavu lost 1-0 to Grinti from South Sudan; College Amis des Enfants were beaten 59-47 by Kuajok secondary school of South Sudan; APE Rugunga lost 49-48 to Uganda’s Nabisunsa secondary school in girls’ basketball while ET Mukingi lost 5-3 to home side Lango Coll Lira of Uganda in boy’s rugby.Lycee de Nyanza were beaten 3-0 by Kenya’s Malava in boys’ volleyball; Saint Joseph Kabgayi lost 3-1 to Kenya’s AIC Kasiria in girls’ volleyball and APAPEKI Cyuru lost 23-17 to Kenyan side Shimba Hills in girls’ handball.
