Dear Editor,
The extent to which Rwanda has handled the 1994 genocide cases is impressive.
Knowing that justice is being implemented for those crimes committed against humanity is encouraging for some of us.
For most African countries whose people have suffered under the cruelty and dictatorship of their leaders, the thought of all the injustices is sad and horrible.
Many lessons can be learnt from Rwanda’s history and a lot of turmoil can be prevented.
A good example is the situation in Zimbabwe, where Mugabe’s ‘iron hand’ is hitting hard on its people. How will justice in this country be a reality when the president himself is above the law?
Go up to the Horn of Africa. Somalia has constantly been in perpetual turmoil ever since I was born.
This makes me feel Somalia is forever doomed. However, I just choose to believe that there is some hope for this war torn land.
